Walk & Pray

I walk everywhere in the city. Any city. You see everything you need to see in a lifetime. Every emotion. Every condition. Every fashion. Every glory. —Maira Kalman

Today – another short devotional video, this one inviting us to walk and pray (and featuring a special guest...)

I heard from a friend in Paris that they are now limited to walks within 1 square kilometer of their homes! Out walking today David remarked how fortunate we are that we can still wander far and away. We walked up to the church to see the blooms on the tree out front against the blue sky -- glory. Walking and praying, I imagine what the Lord may work through the intercession of God's people in every part of the city.

Since in the video I suggest taking a Bible passage along with you, below are a few that may guide your prayers.

Walking and praying with you – Laurie (with Charlie…)

Colossians 4:2 – Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.

Ephesians 6:10, 13 and 18 – Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power... For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms... pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

1 John 5:14-15 – This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.

Psalm 48:8
As we have heard,
so we have seen
in the city of the Lord Almighty,
in the city of our God:
God makes her secure forever.

Jeremiah 29:7 – But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.
