Session Update - March
In March our elders and deacons met together for a joint Session meeting, discussing the mission that we share to make disciples. The loving attention that our Deacons dedicate to our members, particularly those who are isolated or in need, encourages everyone in our West Side family to follow Jesus in faith, hope and love. We are grateful for the Deacons!
At the end of the shared meeting Karol Aronson submitted her notice of retirement – you can read her letter HERE. We waited to post this update until everyone had a chance to hear Karol’s big news through email, letter and worship announcement. Mark your calendars for Sunday, June 25 when we celebrate Karol’s faithfulness on staff at West Side.
Elders discussed two major points of business after the Deacons left for their own meeting. First, we have had a thorough acoustic and light analysis of the sanctuary and will take steps based on these results to improve our sound and lighting in the worship space!
Bless Big Global was the final discussion topic! Remember how last year we supported 7 Global Mission Partners? This year we’ll turn our attention once again to the ways that we can bless the work of fellow Christians in the Global Church. You may be involved with a Global Mission organization whose work you would like to bring to the attention of our church family. If that is the case please use this form to suggest them as a partner in this year’s Bless Big Global. Elders will set the partners at their next meeting on April 11 so that we can begin to focus on the Bless Big Global campaign in May, ending on Pentecost Sunday (May 28). God has blessed us abundantly, so that in all things, at all times, having all that we need, we may bless and encourage our brothers and sisters around the world in their good efforts for the sake of the gospel.
Elders meet again as a Session on Tuesday, April 11. Pray for them as budget work begins and Bless Big Global decisions are being made.
